Sometimes a Dog Just Knows

Image
Hello my readers! Sometimes a dog just knows when to chill out and let you know it's time to do so. Watching Netflix (Korean Drama Hotel Del Luna is my current favorite) is a routine of mine to unwind, but with a hectic week it was hard to turn my mind off. Maximus is the sweetest soul (with the biggest protector heart), and just laid on my stomach so I was forced to just be in that moment. Going to therapy years ago, I remembered what my therapist said about mindfulness and being in the moment. Forgetting about what happened before and what could be in the after. We used brushing teeth as a mundane activity, but just petting a dog could be used to. When the mind starts to wander, just calmingly bring it back. As I work towards graduating and applying for my Masters of the Fine Arts in Creative Writing, I forget about this mindfulness in the moment. Somehow my simple little sweet soul gets it better than I do. I have two lovely Corgis, but this little guy is the 'go-getter...

Just a Writer with a Video Game Obesession

Oh my, oh me! I found a new video game for my collection, Tales of Arise. As I write stories, I find that I wish I could be a part of the story process of these sorts of video games. Role playing games (Asian origin or not) that have a deep story have always been a wonderful past time of mine through two thirds of my life. I swear the only reason I know roman numerals are because of the Final Fantasy franchise... While Tales games are newer to me, about 11 years as opposed to 20 years of game play, I still enjoy the stories as well as the complexity of combat. I can usually find a way to break through my writer's block if I just take a few hours to pummel some monsters (zuegles, fiends, daemons...etc). Thank you for indulging my video game enjoyment!
