Poetry
Persephone
I remember the dark hooves
their sound against the ground-
The chariot moving swiftly
as I tended to spring’s bounty.
Darkness covered me as I wept
the colorful world turning into an abyss-
In this world I felt frail
until I harnessed my power.
My body a weapon-
My voice a siren’s song-
My purity into knowledge-
My will became tempered steel.
Never will I stay a frail girl
I am a woman who knows her strength
her wisdom
her limitless potential.
Marrying my Hades gave me power
My demons are now my own
to forever hold and treasure
as they do my bidding.
